Much as Evelyn would have liked to give in to hysterical weeping, she was able to eschew lament and opt instead for icy, eviscerating rage directed against Mr. Blankfein (the comptroller in the employee pension office of the accounting department, who had apparently been dicking around with her retirement account for his own personal gain), coming up behind him and plunging her letter opener downward with enviable precision between his nuchal and sagittal crests so forcefully that it went all the way through his head and emerged (somewhat notched and pitted, tra la!) just beside his left nostril. Therapeutic massage is supposed to be an employee benefit at Plexitar, but our stingy comptroller has set the budget so low that we can only afford the most lamentably inexperienced masseurs, who can't distinguish nucha from tailbone, but always manage to eschew the body parts that need attention most.
