As she soughed through the unbelievable amount of clutter in my room, with a repartee to my every excuse for not cleaning, and unbeleaguered by my mess, she suddenly yelled, "What the...", her aposiopesis making me think she stepped on feces or something, but it turned out to be just a dead mouse and some cheese, probably from a pizza I'd had a few months ago. Coughing aposiopesistically, Professor Harper looked thoughtfully through his thick glasses at his beleaguered "English As A Second Language" class - taught on weeknights in the Borough Hall - and realized that the noise they seemed collectively to be making (somewhere between a sough and a whimper, punctuated by theatrically mispronounced sentence fragments all containing words ending in -ough) called for a different response than his usual bantering repartee in their various native languages, in order to get them out of their Slough of Despond.
