As she divagated about the mall, tempted on all sides by luxury items made further desirable by the lagniappe lure (no extra charge!) of frosted sprigs of plastic holly, a glittering Christmas tree bauble, or a gold-foil chocolate-flavoured chocolate, she experienced once again that seasonal sense of the numinous inseparable from the divine altruism embodied in such heart-warming gifts.
