Whether you can call mortgage underwriting a métier at par with, say, medicine or engineering is a matter of conjecture, but what is not conjecture is that the underwriters from Supremo Subprimo were caught red-handed at a noxious conventicle of bankers, rating agencies and mortgage companies and the unfelicitous result is that they are now personally bankrupt and working at the local entrepots hauling pallets and boxes.
