I found the painter's great trompe-l'oeil, Snowdrift #3, so persuasive as to make the museum itself seem rather parky, good cause to ask my date whether she wanted to collaborate in warming up, a proposition which she rejected parkily, sending me into a plangent lament over the scarcity of teamwork in our town's Balkanized singles' scene. My trompe-l'oiel started out as a collaboration with Picasso, but the Spaniard's absurdly disproportionate eyes and four-fingered "muppet" hands proved far too abstract for the realist style, so I gave the renowned artist a plangent drubbing and chased him out into the parky night, keeping hot on his heels for a good forty minutes or so, until at last he dove through a sewer grating and escaped me. "Parka for parky in the park" was the title of the trompe l'oeil we were assigned to analyze but one of my classmates refused to collaborate in "this bourgeois subject by a bourgeois painter for a bourgeois audience" and challenged us in a plangent tone to instead "think of the parky homeless who have no park or parka."
