I came upon this poacher, m'lud, engaged upon an act of grossest reptation, wriggling along inelegantly quite hidden from view - as he thought - by a riparian willow, and scheming no doubt to tickle one of your own fine trout for hawking to genteel folk on market day; but the arroyo was in such seasonal spate that he slipped right in, head first, and here the varmint now stands arraigned before you, wet and hysterical withal.
