Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?

Attempts to resolve the Quandary:

Having assayed my conscience I felt much chastened, aware that the sidelong oeillades that I had of late bestowed upon the strapping wainwright had but encouraged his amorous inclinations, when my exalted station - if it did not altogether rule out such a teasing dalliance - undoubtedly precluded acceptance of the wagon he had already made to carry us both to our nuptials.

Wayne Wright (who, as destiny would have it, was a wainwright by trade) cast an amorous oeillade at the rather hairy--yet strikingly attractive--woman whose carriage he was in the process of repairing; and in that furtive ogling glance he quickly assayed the likelihood of a possible tryst with her, somewhere among the glaucous reeds which clustered along the nearby riverbank, should the opportunity arise.1

1 This outcome, however, was knocked clear of all possibility by the chastening smack of a birch log, deftly wielded by the woman's jealous husband against the side of Wayne's leering cranium, plunging the wagon-maker into a brief but intriguing coma.

It only took one surreptitious oeillade at a gilded carriage for Rufus to assay his career prospects and to resolve to become a wainwright, but his enthusiasm was chastened by the advent of the automobile and the concomitant decrease in the wagons in circulation in his and all surrounding towns. Dorian, whilst luxuriating in the unabashed oeillades from Wainwright, found it necessary, upon assaying his plangent ballads, to chasten the hot-house humidity of their florid flourishes.
