Hearing His Royal Highness stutter his embarrassed way through a short text, I was able to retrodict the reason for his fear of public speaking, and being ruthful and sympathetic to his plight I passed on to him the two Annie Oakleys that I had been given for that evening's performance by Max Miller, the Cheeky Chappie, trusting that exposure to the endemic fluency of the British working class might just loosen his tongue.
