To protect our find, hidden behind a huge stone statue of the pharaoh, deep within the labyrinthine passageways beneath the great pyramid, we had created a trammel by covering the floors with the bubble wrap which had protected our delicate scientific instruments during our travels, causing the corridors to crepitate and alert us if anyone attempted to ambulate along them.

The labyrinthine nest of tunnel and trapdoor which comprised the intended resting place of the not-yet-dead pharaoh was tested by the unnamed and unfortunate builder who had added the finishing touch to the last trammel, and was not freed no matter how much he crepitated.
