The members of that first group of underground fighters were a heterogeneous lot – the ace fighter pilot who had been a national hero, the head of a family-run crime syndicate, the aging leather-clad pistolero, the termed-out politician, the pole dancer cum law student, the pony tail school girl in her plaid uniform with matching book bag, and the socialite sybarite, loath to show his mettle but drawn in by the likelihood of being cast as a celebrity amongst the younger set.
