Attempts to resolve the Quandary:

Corazon drifted off to sleep on February 13th, replete with agape on the eve of love’s great day, her apartment bedecked with scarlet ribbons and hearts, but she was heartbroken when she woke up alone on Valentine’s morning -- no cordate box of chocolates, no roses, no aubade from her dionysian musician boyfriend, who had gone off to a post-performance party the night before with nary a thought about anyone but himself.

When the 300th televised debate finally arrived, on the morning of Valentine’s Day, it seemed, in contrast with the 299th previous showdowns, like an invisible mist of goodwill, brotherhood and agape had descended on the stage and enveloped the candidates, with one party presenting a cordate box of chocolates to the front runner, another serenading the moderator with a romantic aubade and a third sobbing emotionally in a dionysian fashion that he didn't need to be President and that any of his rivals would be just fine with him.
