Nurse Nancy arrived early at the vendor booth section of the medical conclave, which showcased all the new textbooks and laboratory paraphernalia, from mass spectrometry analyzers to pipettes, test tubes, and paperclips, in order to be first in line – rather like an early bird at a Black Friday sale -- to grab handfuls of company notepads, pens, squeeze balls for stress, and other assorted swag, which would be bandied back home with her peers who had acquired such booty from other conferences, with nearly as much relish as if they had plundered a pirate treasure chest and made off with the gold.
