Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?

Attempts to resolve the Quandary:

My friend Jason and I saw the “Grand Opening” sign posted outside the new business down the street from work and decided that “free appetizers” and “2-for-1 beers” were good reasons to go inside and check it out, plus we were intrigued by the possibility of prizes for the winners of the darts tournament, so after a few drinks we found ourselves listening to Joe, the front runner in the game, and some of his friends talking about visiting exotic locales and giving phatic testimonials to the camaraderie of sailors aboard a ship who enjoyed working, singing, and dancing together, and that we could sign up to go with them, never once realizing that this whole charade was orthogonal to the usual recruitment process and that we were well on the way to being shanghaied.
