After Dr. Watson’s stories about the super sleuth were published, some people – especially members of the police force – began to view Sherlock Holmes as a tin god and questioned his powers of deduction, but they were quite delighted with his sangfroid and proficiency in the ways of modern weaponry and ancient martial arts fighting techniques when they found themselves trapped in a dark alley and confronted by a heavily armed gang of criminals, whereupon a filthy cumulus consisting of a homeless person and his junk (actually Holmes in disguise) suddenly erupted into action, with gunshots and flying fists and feet, besting the crooks and saving the coppers.
