Susanna was a good witch, but a witch nonetheless, and was often accused of being a cunctator by her peers, for she seldom interfered in the affairs of others; however, she was quick to act when she heard the cries of a lone sailor clinging to a scrap of wood after a terrible storm and shipwreck, and she frantically combined ingredients to levigate into a magical powder which she would toss from the nearby cliffs into the waves that crashed below while reciting an incantation, thus creating a halcyon spot around the sailor which would carry him safely to shore, all the while remembering her promise to return the favor and be his guardian angel after he had saved her life many years ago, when he saw a mob place a girl in a burlap sack, tie it closed and throw it into the sea to test if she was a witch -- if it sank, she would be innocent, but if came to the surface it would prove that she was a witch -- and he dove into the water and saved her.

I made the mistake of viciously hurling a cunctator at my guardian angel's head--not realizing he hated both cucumbers and potatoes--and soon found my halcyon realm levigated to a fine gray dust....
