Although I retired from dressage and took up the manufacturing of shuttlecocks, Helena was aught but impressed and she sneered at my new effort as “another chichi occupation that does not address any of the world’s pressing needs”, but I protested this time and posited that a thriving economy was largely orectic, based on meeting not only needs but also desires.

After being rejected as a possible candidate for dressage training, Krystol “Bubbles” Shampain decided that for aught those so-called professionals claimed to know, they could not recognize an Olympic gold medal winner-in-the-making, so she decided to pursue a new interest and chase shuttlecocks across the lawn with a racket in hand; however, she found that her latest chichi summery outfit did not lend itself to simple orectic activities and could not be shed easily in hot weather or for trips to the lady’s room.
