Deep down inside, I knew we were living in a fool’s paradise, but our canard about being the long lost royal twins had been so convincing that no one doubted our story until Gabby drank too much at a state dinner and reverted to her former inimitable low-class style, complete with elbows on the table, snapping fingers to summon the wait staff, and an incredibly loud rendition of a tale riddled with cacology and cuss words.
