As George began to doze off during an unplanned siesta at his workbench, he noted some termite damage to the wood in the basement, but when he awoke, the space around him had become a virtual termitarium, which led him to barrack in joy, nearly dancing, when the exterminator arrived, whereupon the two men dispensed with the maieutic approach to questions about the state of his home, restricting inquiry to “how soon?” and “how much?”.

Roused suddenly by a Gallup pollster from a Kafkaesque siesta in which I dreamt that I had metamorphosed into a wood-munching insect, I felt greatly disoriented and tried to get rid of him with the ambiguous non-response that "I will barrack Obama" at an upcoming Cincinnati rally, but then he followed up with the maieutic "Would you explain why that would be beneficial and to whom?" and I, still dazed and confused, said it would be best for "peace and prosperity in the termitarium."
