The students grumbled about the Dean’s adherence to calendrical events for parietal rule setting -- such as mixed gender visiting in the dorms only being allowed on Valentine’s Day, and pranks being restricted to April first – and responded by calling him a curmudgeon in the school newspaper and subjecting paper copies of his pronouncements to plication into paper airplanes, which were launched from windows all over campus.

The owner of the envelope factory, an old curmudgeon full of mulligrubs, insisted on a calendrical parietal separation of the plication section shifts: on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, men folded the paper for envelopes; on Tuesdays and Thursdays - women.
