In the middle of the vacuous snowscape outside of town, the mountain peak was downright fastigiate, with long, sleek sides the best you’ve ever seen for taking a sled to ridiculous speeds, which is why I nobbled my way to the front of the line of kids, threatening to punch a kindergartener if he didn’t clear out of my way, giving my toy whistle as a cumshaw to a sixth grader for letting me through, until, at last, at last – woohoo!!!

He stood on the courthouse steps with his hands raised, tall and imposing like the fastigiate poplars flanking both sides of the building, jaw dropped with surprise, looking vacuous as he gaped at the state police who confronted him with their guns drawn, and wondered about his rise to power where he had nobbled the weak and passed out cumshaws to the strong and had expected his efforts to make him untouchable.

The plaintiff, Mr. Turvey, claimed that his Christmas had been ruined by a misshapen and unstable tree—one which was not fastigiate but top-heavy and inclined to fall on the heads of guests—and even though the defendant, CEO of Merry Timber Express LLC, proved the case vacuous (photos from Christmas dinner revealed that Mr. Turvey had positioned the tree upside down) the plaintiff still prevailed because, with generous cumshaw, he had nobbled the jurors.

Oblivious to the looming danger of the 'fiscal cliff', Senator Al Ruiniu enjoyed an illegal cumshaw from a prominent businessman of a Christmas trip to Tuscany, a region he loved for its fine cuisine, rolling hills, stone houses and fastigiate trees, but when questioned upon his return to DC about his ethical misconduct and dereliction of duty at a time of national crisis, he tried to nobble his critics by feigning a vacuous look of innocence and by wishing everyone a happy new year.
