 After an American millionaire offered a fortune to the owners of their long-time rent-free home to purchase and move the old stone structure to the States, the poor cenobites were praying for deliverance from their impending eviction, when who would heave in sight but a man they had once nursed back to health who repaid their kindness by filching the only valuable item that they owned – a pair of silver candlesticks, now returning as a wealthy businessman prepared to offer a great remuneration for their past kindness.

Disillusioned with the modern world and its filching ways, I decided to forsake its comforts and remunerations and to seek the ascetic life of a cenobite by moving alone to a remote desert island, but my plans and peace were severely disrupted one early morning when I was awakened by the faint buzzing of two jet skis over the horizon, and then, within an hour, a monster-size cruise ship heaved in sight, dropped anchor barely a hundred feet from my beach and disgorged a raucous invasion of five thousand inebriated passengers.
