A massive proboscis protruded over beaver like teeth all suspended clifflike over an almost missing mandible; he drooled when he stuttered, yet Albert had attended Eton and Oxford, was used to those around him ingratiating themselves to him and did not think it a temerarious overreach to apply for a professorship at a lowly redbrick college; he was a Lancaster, after all, (unfortunately so were all his grandparents), so it was quite the surprise that the interview committee’s rejection was not even couched in roundabout language; "luckily their rudeness saved me, Jarvis", he intoned to his chauffeur, "their faculty lounge looked like the cafeteria at Eton gone to seed, and they didn’t even offer me a proper brandy, my god man, I don’t think they even had gin"!

Ahmed Jianni—a retired redbrick alumnus heading the Nationalist Party—delivered a thunderous harangue which was not only modestly temerarious but also a roundabout glorifying his vision of retaining a democracy and denouncing the autocratic military: it did very little for his meticulous attempt to ingratiate his party workers who had lost faith in their leader's political capabilities after his infamous exile to Saudi Arabia amidst the ignominious corruption and unapologetic tax evasion charges levied upon him.

When Fourwastedyears College was established, its founders sought to ingratiate the institution with its donors and the wider public by constructing a redbrick campus in the same architectural style as the old famed universities, but their ambition proved too temerarious for their tiny budget and their first and only annual report explained in a roundabout way that the college was bankrupt and would never open its doors. Edward, darling, Papá is an Oxford man, and if you allude in even the most roundabout way to your so-called brilliant career at a redbrick university, you will not only have failed to ingratiate yourself with the family; you will have caused him to think you a temerarious fool for having dreamt of asking for my hand.  (by Gravely)
