"The texture of this music is thick and coarse like kasha", Mat whispered surdly to me as we watched and listened to the folk/funk/polka/punk band Giant Hyrax on its bandbox stage by the Delaware River; but I felt that asking him exactly what he meant would just peg me as a nosy parker.

Oh, you're right, I should have told that nosy parker next door to go jump in a lake, instead of answering why it is we live in a miserable bandbox of a house and why I boil up kasha morning, noon and night rather than something less nutritious that might cost a little more and actually taste good -- all so that you can follow the surd promptings of your muse instead of going to work in Daddy's office!!! Ignoring Ena’s grunts, squeals and other surds of delight, Brad Cheetum spotted the nosy parker, put down his bowl of kasha and dragged the boy into the bandbox of a room he let as an apartment.
