In the hadal depths of the Indian Ocean, Osama has arrived in the world he dreamt of, where the materialistic vulgarians who rule his native land, and the philosophers of ecumenism who pollute its religious purity with their theocrasy, are utterly absent -- a situation which, by and large, must conduce to the happiness of everyone concerned.  (by Gravely)

Sheik Masaari Baksheesh, a master of multinational market manipulation, a vulgarian of ostentatious wealth, bombastic speech and imperial bearing, had developed (as, by and large, had many of his associates) his own theocrasy combining the attributes of Ares, Shiva, Priapus and above all Mammon; though this new religion spanned the seven seas, it was as barren as their hadal depths.

By and large, the US is currently a theocrasy, where citizens of all faiths or none worship or not in freedom; but I shudder at this country's many extremist vulgarians who constantly disrespect other beliefs and try to bring about a theocracy in which agnostic or atheist scientists would lose their rights, just at the time when we need them most around the world - not only on those tiny islands in the Pacific where already the hadal waters menace their minuscule buffers against the rising sea, but also on the US mainland, where a shallower ocean nevertheless threatens many a coastal city.
