The grey bones of the town, the mélange of smells: pig farm, slaughter house, grinding plant, and a little coterie of factory workers assaulted the beautiful new bride as she stepped from the train adjusting the gossamer snood adorning her dazzling fascinator; behind her came her husband, the sausage king, owner of the only industry in this jerkwater town; and as each worker proudly vied to offer her one of the dozen sausage treats on hand, she demurred politely, refusing to ask for a no dog, and despite her vegan revulsion, praising each allantoid offering in turn.
