His political enemies were so perfervid, they tried to birdlime him into even more crimes than Clinton - up to and including lese majesty - though everyone knew treason was preposterous; what they didn't know was that their assumption that his good looks meant a beautiful woman would entrap him while philandering could not have from the truth been further, as he was a philandrist, not a philanderer.
