Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?

Attempts to resolve the Quandary:

1

Dear Theresa,

שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם

Such times we live in already! Zelda is sending you Chicken Soup with Barley, the recipe she got of Dusty Bicker, Arnold Wesker's wife, you remember her, nu? it will fortify you body and soul – your Auntie May makes a good Borscht which is particularly useful for cleansing the gut, go ask her, tell her I send her my Blessing, she won't thank you for that – thinking I consider it bush league compared with Zelda's – but she will make the soup and you will enjoy the benefit; my Zelda swears no human being can get enough soup and this is no trope for it is also in the Tanakh, yes! so you have it on the very best authorities; as for another appointment, we leave that to Milly and Zelda, they will, no doubt arrange first a meeting for themselves, to which, armed with our respective diaries and over a few glasses of Zelda's favourite Edradour House of Lords Scotch Whisky a date and time will be agreed and transmitted to us – not to find if it is suitable, but to Tell Us that it is signed, sealed and delivered with no wriggle room – I apologise for the catachresis: and As It Is Written, So It Shall Be Done! oy vey ist mir! this must be what it's like for a robot, Hah!

And there I shall see you, my dear,

בעזרת השם

Shmuel Burns, Rabbi
