Major Holly Martins kicked 'Uncle' Hans widdershins and roused him from his stupor: "Okay, Stinker, here's your choices:- you become a spy for us against the Nazi Party, the Gestapo and your Fuhrer; or we kill you now; or we hand your tapes over to Himmler and let him kill you very slowly! your decision," and Major J Alfred Prufrock, playing Good Cop said: "it's a trilemma, I know, so you have a 33% chance of choosing the right one or, to elucidate, the outcome for whichever choice you make will probably be extremely distressing, not to say, unbearably painful, so take your time, we can give you thirty seconds, but you are a fundi, you made all this recording equipment, kitted out the van, planted microphones at great personal risk, you are clearly a potentially valuable asset to us, and one we would hardly burn as that would bring the wrong people sniffing around, so if you want to keep on breathing, albeit looking over your shoulder to check if you are under suspicion, at least think long and hard, you have five seconds left!"

When people's thoughts go widdershins,
And wise men do mistake
A simple choice for trilemmas
Merely for comfort's sake,
It needs someone to ease the tension;
It needs a fundi's intervention.
