    Although the King decided she was the dauphin for his love after the Queen's disappearance, the court saw the truth of that old proverb, "Even Homer nods": they did not kiss, merely osculate; and her small affection was only sheltered in a bivouac of commitment, ready to decamp once her plans reached fruition.

    The pugnacious citizens refuted our claim that their fruit could be properly categorised as "pepo", despite its obvious proximity to the cucumber or melon, and regardless of any amount of logic or lucre we applied.
