Quandary Resolution 1091
maffick, metonymic, cap-a-pie, oneiric
Seeing his great grandmother and her ancient friends mafficking drunkenly around the living room was for Charles an oneiric experience, not in the sense of a tranquilizing, slo-mo vision of leaping springboks but rather like a nightmare of rampaging hippopotami, to which he responded first by cap-a-pie trembling and perspiring and then by calling in The Law (his characteristic metonymic for the entire local law enforcement establishment, which in this instance arrived in the person of yrs. truly, Sgt. Dick Flymsley).
