The neurologist (quondam houseman lobotomist), finding that his subject's cortical activity patterns remained decidedly abnormal, took up with alacrity his dime a dozen trepanning drill (for he was no wastrel of department resources) and briskly reamed out a humongous cavity, from which surged a monstrous magma of cerebral matter that, with sisyphean application, he entirely failed to staunch.
