Though he signed prescriptions with a grand flourish, Dr. Iota offered such skimpy dosages that his patients developed the same iatrogenic sarcasm, mocking their physician in the waiting room (“Feeds us so well, don't he?”), and sometimes exhibiting further symptoms, like one medicine-starved patient who snatched the doctor's prescription pad and scarpered: iatrogenic kleptomania?
