The first reports that it was a nosocomial infection that had spread were bogus, as were the reports that said it was curable; now everybody with a gun sat defensively imbricated behind overlapping fields of fire and locked doors waiting for the chance to, as my neighbor Teddy put it, “Vamoose the hell out of this zombie s—t hole.”
