Suddenly realizing her funny routine about politicians could be seen as a philippic against the President, who was seated no more than 10 feet from her, the comedian quickly interposed her own material with current affairs, talking about the nidifugous turtles of the Gulf Coast that hurry from fatty eggs to an oily grave, and about the irony in the goading of a rich financial industry by an indebted government, none of which made the President feel any better, not to mention, NOT FUNNY.
