Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1316
Buridan's ass, apothecary, apotheosis, swain
Walking home after a consultation with the town's duly credentialed apothecary, having just ingested all the sparkling powder from a vial labeled Rheumatism Cure, Eliza hallucinated one swain on her left, and another swain on her right -- each seeming to her the apotheosis of youthful charm, the redhead beckoning her east to Arcadia, the blond beckoning her west to Shangri-La -- and, unable to identify the fittest companion, the handsomest hair color, or the most pleasing destination, she stood paralyzed like Buridan's ass, lingering in indecision until an imagined troll guided her back to the hovel containing her superannuated spouse (bald).
