Quandary Resolution 1327
acanaceous, redound, olla podrida, bathos
The marking 'olla podrida' was one he had not come across before, although he had a hunch that it might just be the Spanish equivalent of 'alla polacca', and so he began conducting the quodlibet with just as much Chopinesque panache as he could muster; but his anachronistic rendition so entirely failed to please the panel - an arid, acanaceous bunch of Renaissance specialists - that with barbed tongue they unanimously adjudged his interpretation of the ensalada incongruously bathetic, his early Romantic lunges redounding greatly to his discredit.
