When the draftsman failed in his efforts to isometrically project the image of God onto a two-dimensional canvass, he sought the advice of a renowned starets and Eastern Orthodox iconographer, who didn't usually advise occidentals, perceiving them as obstreperous heretics, but in this case was willing to suggest fasting, penance and the renunciation of Euclidean geometry.
