Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1353
figurant, luthier, polyonymous, juggernaut
In the boiling stew of the University, Luthiere Armand-Pilon, daughter of the lute maker, was able to remain mercifully only a figurant, leaving the large movements (and most of the lines) to others who, soon enough, would be crushed by the juggernaut of western industrialized culture, while Luthiere herself went on to become one of the great actors of her time, acclaimed polyonymously all over the world: "Louis" in France, "Lewis" in English speaking countries, and even "Luyishan" in China, although only her closest friends knew that she was biologically female.
