Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1384
antipoetic, counterplot, compadre, couvade
In a radical counterplot against his pregnant wife's plan to raise a child who would appreciate and respect the strictures of formal verse, the Distinguished Professor of Subversion Studies only pretended to be on a couvade (reading well-formed sonnets to a doll stuffed under his shirt, representing his daughter's fetus), meanwhile enlisting his compadres from the Department to be present at the actual birth, where they would recite works by antipoets such as Nicanor Parra, blissfully devoid of rhyme, meter, and convention.
