Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1390
weathercock, flyblown, macerate, heliolatry
With my half-dry shirt as a poor-man’s weathercock, a flyblown plank of wood that was once a side-panel of the sunken boat as a sorry excuse for an oar, a little turtle macerating in salt-water as my only prospect of dinner, and the sun shining gracefully down on me as if to keep me warm and visible, I realized all I could engage in was heliolatry, praying that He would stick around until a rescue helicopter or another boat found me.
