The piles of papers on his desk had been slightly displaced by the early spring zephyrs coming through the open window and now his brachyuran fingers scuttled around searching for the distinctive KCB Samen cucurbitaceae catalog in which he hoped to find seeds of the perfect Halloween pumpkin of which he was expected to be able to contribute at least a dozen carved specimens to the apocolocyntosis of the neighborhood on October 31, provided the weather cooperated for the next ninety days and provided the plants' circadian rhythms weren't disrupted by being grown in the Southern Hemisphere.
