Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1496
panegyric, vitiate, conn, impedimenta
"Mr. O'Donnell", said Captain Roberts tremulously, "you have the conn while I go across to the Endeavor", and that was last I heard from him until the next day since, if the rumors are true, towards the end of the banquet, while he was striding around the dining room delivering the long-rehearsed panegyric in praise of Captain Alderson's conduct in the recent engagement, he stumbled over some badly stowed weaponry and other battle-related impedimenta and went headfirst into the depths of Mrs. Alderson's snowy bosom, having first knocked the punchbowl into her husband's lap, which entirely vitiated the impression of manly sobriety he had been trying so hard to make.
