Quandary Resolution 1512
beggar, cwm, garner, fulgurate
In Iceland, as I was walking gingerly down the steep slope of a cwm, imagining how wonderful glaciers are to leave such deep yet gentle cuts in the land they move through, a fulgurating stream of light, perhaps from the aurora borealis, startled me, knocked me off my feet, made me slide down the rest of the slope on my butt, garnering some serious pain in the process and beggaring my energy for enjoying the rest of the trip.
