Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1515
steeve, obrogate, tactile, zaftig
In the cool, shadowy interior of his idling automobile, in between unseemly gulps of a zaftig Merlot, Sean Finagle, Esq. thought uneasily that this was definitely what was meant by "the tactile gaze" as he squirmed to avoid the sensation of hostile stares boring into his skin from the eyes of the longshoremen, who had stopped steeving bales of hemp into the hold of the Mary J. and were now standing silently on the dock below, ready to obrogate the Beatitudes with the Law of the Jungle (and not Kipling's version, either).
