Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1553
puerile, ochre, fester, tarry
An hour in the doctor's waiting room: gray chairs, ochre carpet faded in places to dijon mustard and dotted with small tarry spots like pepper grains, and the air freighted with one-sided cellphone conversations, each more puerile and banal than the one before (my particular favorite being a lengthy description of a putatively empty Servin' Saver which turned out on closer inspection to harbor the festering remains of the Fourth of July potato salad).
