Quandary Resolution 1599
estival, gumshoe, liminal, incunabulum
When the printing press was still in swaddling clothes, one Heinrich Gran of Haguenau printed an unusual satirical theological work and it was on the trail of this incunabulum that Leo, rare book sleuth, gumshoe extraordinaire, and - particularly relevant to this story - a man who occasionally crossed the limen into thuggery, now armed himself with a discrete revolver and went to pay an estival visit to Herr Pfister, an elderly collector who spent his summers relatively isolated in a small chalet in the Swiss Alps.
