Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1613
irenic, ness, insouciance, piquant
As we rounded the ness, tracing a sheep path running perilously close to the edge, an old tar could be seen down by the noust making what with some insouciance we took to be irenic gestures of greeting but which, as it later transpired, proved to be his last hopeless attempts to summon assistance as the incoming tide lapped his larynx; so not waving but drowning - how utterly piquant!
