Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1800
fatwa, rain on someone's parade, plumply, rigmorole
Reluctant as I am, O Final Arbiter of the Word (a thousand obeisances, etc., etc.,), to rain on your lexical parade, I feel that I must hereby serve you with a counter-fatwa regarding the sometime traumatising ambiguity (and not for the first time) of your quotidian edict, which appears to require me to wrestle with the accommodation of not just four recalcitrant words but five, for I know not today whether to plump for a Rubensesque 'plumply' or (rightly or wrongly) angle myself towards a Mondrianesque 'rectilinear' - but you are no doubt impatient of this tedious rigmorole (which, mind you, I prefer to spell with an 'a'), so I shall conclude and remain yours, profoundly damaged and bewildered, Et Seqq.
