Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 1810
custos morum, junket, eternize, efface
In considering how to administer the swelling Fund for the Rehabilitation of Virtue, Straightness and Uprightness entrusted to his honorable care, the chairman of the town council's New Rectitude Subcommittee felt all fluttery inside, sensing that he was gambling with his own moral and political fate – even one misstep could swiftly efface his reputation as Champion of Rightness and eternize him in public memory instead as a naughty, naughty, naughty, very naughty, naughty boy – so he decided to preemptively embrace (and thereby cleanse) what naughtiness had already infected him and therefore apply the Fund towards a "Junket for Truth" in Las Vegas, where, arguably, his services as custos morum (in particular his facility with reconstituting the moral fibers of struggling youth), were in more dire need than in his own small and comparatively chaste town of Lower Salvation Falls.
