Dean Murkowitz was widely gleeked as a luddite when he unveiled the plans for the renovation of the science complex: no DSL cables, no digital projectors, no computer labs, even; in fact, the only concession to technology was a sculpture to be hung in the main atrium, titled "Coruscating Sphere," which bore an unfortunate and indeed rather uncannily close resemblance to a disco ball.
